What I’m reading and reviewing

Hello Kidlit Fans!

The Oct/Nov Debut Review Challenge is off to a great start! I’m beginning to get my hands on the terrific books featured in this round and I have some reviews to share with you!

But first, take a look at this exciting new prize opportunity!

When you tweet a review, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a book bundle of previously featured debuts! Use the hashtags #AmReviewing and #DebutReviewChallenge to qualify. And don’t forget to tag the creators! Every review you tweet will earn you one entry. Good luck!

ICYMI: Here are my reviews from the past two Saturdays. You won’t want to miss these terrific picture books!

Review: When his father insists on selling Kamal, Raja channels his disappointment into schemes to keep her. Will they work? Raja’s sunny disposition and unflinching hope in seemingly hopeless circumstances make him a compelling protagonist with a big heart. Readers will cheer for this unlikely pair!

Review: Assumptions abound in this tale of mistaken identity. Will the naive veggies ever listen to Gopher? Schroeder and Engell keep kids guessing with loads of silliness, suspense, & surprise!

Here are some easy ways to support #Kidlit debuts:

  • Purchase them from your local independent bookstore
  • Borrow them from your local library
  • If your library doesn’t have them, suggest that they purchase them for their collection
  • Review them! Reviews help debut creators gain more traction in the marketplace through visibility and virtual word-of-mouth.

Don’t forget to enter the Debut Review Challenge after you post five reviews online (Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, Bookroo, etc.). You could be a winner!
